> Hi, my name is
Pim van Leeuwen
Problem solver, always looking for a challenge.
I'm a software engineer who loves building reliable, scalable, well-designed systems, and I care just as much about the people, processes, and communities that make technology meaningful.
01.About Me
I am a software engineer driven by a passion for building reliable, scalable, and thoughtfully designed systems. What excites me most isn't the code itself, but the problems it lets us solve, and I'm especially drawn to the intersection of software engineering, human impact, and problem solving.
I graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor's and went on to earn a Master's in Computer Science, exploring a wide range of technologies along the way: building systems with Vue, Laravel, and Docker, working with infrastructure in a startup-like setting, and conducting research in C++ and OpenCL on GPU-accelerated parallel reductions. Outside of formal work, I keep learning through yearly Advent of Code challenges and experimenting with Python, Rust, and modern C++.
Since joining ING's Tech Class in September 2025, I've rotated through teams across the company, an experience I've loved for the breadth of technologies and people it exposed me to. I built Java Spring Boot services in the UpgradeHub to help customers improve their home energy labels, developed cross-platform features with Flutter in the InsideBusiness Mobile team, and most recently explored how AI can improve developer efficiency.
Beyond the technical side, I bring extensive leadership experience from student and sports organizations, in roles from secretary to chairman, which shaped me as a team leader, communicator, and organizer. I also care deeply about community and safety, volunteering with the Red Cross to train as an event first responder. Above all, I'm motivated by continuous learning, collaboration, and the chance to build software that is robust, elegant, and genuinely useful.
Here are a few technologies I've been working with recently:
- Python
- C++
- Java / Spring Boot
- Dart/Flutter
- Docker
- Microsoft Admin
